Dr. Salah El Haggar has more than 30 years of consulting and teaching experience in Energy and Sustainable Development. Dr. El Haggar has been a visiting professor at Washington State University and the University of Idaho, USA. He is currently a professor of Energy and Sustainable Development with the Mechanical Engineering Department in the American University in Cairo.
Dr. El Haggar’s Sustainable Development Consulting experience includes 5 mega-projects for sustainable building with Gold & Platinum LEED certification, Environmental/Industrial Auditing for more than 40 major industrial identities, 20 Compliance Action Plans, 9 Environmental Impact Assessment and more.
Dr. El Haggar is the author of several books and academic publications, including five books published by Dar El-Fikr El-Araby entitled “Cleaner Production Technologies Series”.
This series focuses on transferring waste into a valuable product. Dr. El Haggar also developed a new concept to assess the life cycle of a product according to the cradle-to-cradle concept instead of the cradle-to-grave concept used worldwide until today.
This concept was developed based on 30 years of intensive and continual research at AUC and documented in two books, including “Sustainable Industrial Design and Waste Management: Cradle-to-Cradle for Sustainable Development”, published in 2007 by Elsevier Academic Press and "Sustainability and Innovation: The Next Global Industrial Revolution", which was released by AUC Press in January 2016.

Eng. Karim Farah is a Senior Architect, Sustainability Manager, and LEED Specialist with over 23 years of experience in the design, supervision, and execution of building projects. Eng. Karim Farah was the coordinator for several projects seeking GSAS Certification in Qatar as well as the ESTIDAMA Pearl Certified project in Abu Dhabi.
These projects include an airport terminal, academic campuses, hospitals, research facilities, libraries, conference centers, schools, sports facilities, housing, office buildings, stadiums, healthcare centers, railway stations and mosques

Sherine received a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering from AUC. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Senior Management Trainer. She is a LEED Legacy, LEED AP BD+C, and LEED AP O+M, helping to pioneer the Green Building movement in the Middle East.
Starting in the UAE, she managed projects that earned LEED certification for various commercial buildings. As a LEED consultant in Egypt, she has played key roles in earning LEED certification for several major construction projects. She was an active partner in the very first LEED Platinum project in Egypt and North Africa - The Credit Agricole Egypt Headquarters in New Cairo as well as the LEED Gold-certified Dar Al Handasah premises in Smart Village, Giza and the LEED Gold-certified Mall of Egypt.
Combining over 25 years of experience in environmental consulting and training with business skills coaching, she has also delivered training courses on both the areas of management skills, environmental sustainability and LEED concepts to corporate clients and university students alike. Sherine is adjunct faculty at The American University in Cairo.

With a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A), Mohamed is a Certified Sustainable Development and Environmental Professional, a founding member and Secretary for the Egyptian Green Building Council with experience in project management, construction, and real estate.
He has held positions including Sustainability Manager and participated in projects as a LEED consultant, including the Gold Certified Dar El- Handasah headquarters , the Platinum Certified Credit Agricole building, the Gold Certified Raya Offices, and the Gold Certified Galleria 40 .
As a certified Health, Safety and Environment professional from OSHA academy, USA, he worked as an advisor, consultant general supervisor, and trainer for OGS projects.

May is a Business Development and Finances professional with over ten years of experience in the banking and financial leasing industry. May specialized in the corporate finance field and is an experienced relationship manager and credit risk analyst. She graduated from AUC with honors and holds a BBA with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics.
She is Credit Risk Certified from The Shindy & Associates institution, ranking first in her class. May brings her experience in financial projections and budgeting, legal and operational practices as well as relationship management to Egypt GBC.
