Dr. Salah El-Haggar has more than 30 years of consulting and teaching experience in Energy and Sustainable Development. Dr. El-Haggar has been a visiting professor at Washington State University and at University of Idaho, U.S.A. He is presently the professor of Energy and Sustainable Development and chair of Mechanical Engineering Department at the American University in Cairo. Dr. El-Haggar Sustainable Development Consulting experience include 5 mega projects for sustainable building using LEED certification (Gold & Platinum), more than 40 Environmental/Industrial Auditing for major industrial identities, 20 Compliance Action Plan, 9 Environmental Impact Assessment. Dr. El-Haggar authored a number of books and academic publications, including five books published by Dar El-Fikr El-Araby entitled “Cleaner Production Technologies Series”. This cleaner production series demonstrates the method to transfer all types of wastes from different activities to a valuable product. Another series of five books entitled “Fundamentals and Mechanisms for Sustainable Development” published by Dar El-Fikr El-Araby. Dr. El-Haggar developed a new concept to assess the life cycle of a product according to cradle-to- cradle concept instead of cradle-to-grave concept used worldwide until today. This concept was developed based on 30 years of intensive and continual effort at AUC and documented in two books. The first book published in 2007 by Elsevier Academic Press entitled “Sustainable Industrial Design and Waste Management: Cradle-to-Cradle for Sustainable Development”. The second book (in press) by AUC Press entitled "Sustainability and Innovation: The Next Global Industrial Revolution" will be released in January 2016.

Karim Farah is Senior Architect/Sustainability Manager/LEED Specialist with an overall experience of 23 years in the design, supervision and execution of various types of building projects. Dar Al-Handasah primary contact with the USGBC and its Sustainability Manager, responsible for implementing the Vision for Dar Al-Handasah to become the leader in Sustainable Design throughout the region: Offering Greener Projects to clients, changing the level of Sustainability awareness and knowledge of employees through Education and in-house training programs and Operational Excellence endorsing the triple bottom line: People, Planet, and Profit in our facilities worldwide. LEED coordinator for more than 30 active LEED projects seeking Certified, Silver and Gold levels in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, and Cairo. 20 achieved LEED certifications: 10 Gold, 8 Silver and 2 Certified. Coordinator for a number of projects seeking GSAS Certification in Qatar, 1 achieved 4 stars certification, 5 achieved 3 stars certification for the design, 21 are registered with a target to achieve 2, 3 and 4 stars under different typologies. In addition to ESTIDAMA Pearl Certified project in Abu Dhabi. These projects include Airport terminal, Academic campus, Hospital, Research Facility, Library, Conference Center, School, Sports Facility, Housing, Office Buildings, Stadiums, Healthcare Centers, Railway stations and Mosque. Dar Al-Handasah USGBC LEED® Faculty™, facilitating many LEED workshops in-house at Dar Al-Handasah offices in Cairo, Beirut and Pune, in addition to the American University in Cairo (AUC) and other institutions. Due to these efforts Dar Al-Handasah has now more than 400 LEED, GSAS and ESTIDAMA Professionals.

Engineer Sherine Fahmy received a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The American University in Cairo, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering from the same University. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Senior Management Trainer and Co-Active Coach. She helped pioneer the beginnings of the Green Building movement in the Middle East. Starting in the UAE, she managed projects that worked on earning LEED Certification for over 70 commercial buildings and on making them more environmentally sustainable. As a LEED Consultant and adjunct faculty at the American University in Cairo, she is involved in a number of major construction projects in Egypt going for LEED certification. She was an active partner in the very first LEED Platinum project in Egypt and North Africa: The Credit Agricole Egypt Headquarters in New Cairo and the LEED Gold certified Dar Al Handasah new premises in Smart Village, Giza. Her project portfolio also includes the upcoming Mall of Egypt, Zewail City for Science & Technology, Union National Bank Office in Mohandiseen and The Gate in Heliopolis. Combining over 20 years of experience in environmental consulting and training with business skills coaching, she has also delivered training courses to many corporate clients and university students on both the areas of management skills, environmental sustainability and LEED concepts. EL-Haggar is an Egyptian sustainable development professional, environmental engineer, and a business administration bachelor holder with double majors in management and information systems. EL-Haggar is a founding member and general secretary for the Egypt Green Building Council, NGO. EL-Haggar worked as green building consultant since 2010 for Energy and Environmental designs and construction phases for different mega projects in Egypt for multinational companies, clients, contractors, consultants, project management. As a certified Health, Safety and Environment professional from OSHA academy, USA, he worked as an advisor, consultant general supervisor, and trainer for OGS projects, projects Management Engineering Valuation and Counseling Bureaus for deferent construction project. EL-Haggar, as professional in the sustainable buildings, is stimulating positions of Sustainability Manager in Redcon Development, and Country Manager for Kattamia for Office Buildings. He participated in other LEED project as a LEED consultant such as Dar EL- Handasa HQ LEED Gold Certified building, Credit Agricole Platinum Certified building, Raya Offices LEED Gold Certified Building, Galleria 40 LEED Gold Certified Building, MB4 Building, NCBH Building, Haliburton Marsa Matrouh, and JCI HQ 47 Building. Eng. Hoda Ibrahim, Senior Engineer At Engineering Consultants Group. She worked as an Architectural Engineer, LEED AP BD+C, FF&E Coordinator, Assistant lecturer in Architecture Department at the Egyptian Russian University.  Hoda Obtained her MSc Degree in Year 2011, with concentration on Environmental Engineering, Management & Technology at Mansoura University. During 36 weeks of study and 21 subject through five main topics; Introduction to environmental issues, Air pollution control, water pollution control, soil pollution control and solid waste management, and Environmental management tools and systems. Hoda's MSc Thesis title was "Assessment for Rating the Sustainable Environmental Performance of New and Existing Building through Standard Building Codes"
Currently She is a candidate for PhD degree on Sustainable Architecture at Mansoura University.
In Regards to Professional work she worked with Hill international as an Architect, she Work to assess and review the architectural drawings, and Furniture Fixture and Equipment (FF&E) requirements. As LEED Coordinator, Hill Int. project is targeting platinum LEED certificate and it is part of her responsibilities to track the work of the designer and the contractor in order to achieve the required and suggested points.
In addition to reviewing all the submittals to be compliance with LEED requirements, and as Member of the Advisory Committee as Environmental Engineer in Right start foundation international on compositing project in Mukalla, Yemen. Hoda ran a field research for the region and the work of a feasibility study for the project and limit the quantities of garbage that can be reused. she participate at ICAN conference International Conference on the (Middle East without weapons of mass destruction) at Istanbul, Turkey, and Contributed to the translation of the ICAN booklet. reviewer of proposals for Greenbuild New Orleans at Greenbuild International Conference and Expo 2014.

May Farag received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a Minor in Economics from the American University in Cairo. She is Credit Risk Certified from The Shindy & Associates institution, ranking 1st in her class.  May has over seven years of experience in the Corporate Banking and Financial Leasing industry and is currently Marketing and Business Development Manager at Enmaa Leasing Company, a joint venture between The ICD in Saudi Arabia and Arab Investment Bank in Egypt. May joined Enmaa as a start-up and helped build the company’s portfolio of leased assets to over EGP 700 Million in just over one year. Before Enmaa, May worked in Audi Bank and Corplease, then a subsidiary of CIB, in their respective corporate departments.
